As Katherine’s Way grew and developed, many women obtained sobriety and their lives and families were restored. Shortly after Katherine’s Way opened, we began to have men coming to us in search of a similar program. Thus, we opened the doors to Immanuel House. It was established using the same fundamentals as the women’s program.
As 143 Ministries continues to grow, God is constantly changing our means of helping the community. We have several small-groups that meet weekly at our headquarters location. These include prayer nights, recovery meetings and youth groups. When COVID-19 affected the world, God pushed us into action and we started feeding the community- not knowing what that would look like. That mission grew and turned into another ministry of its own, Fishes & Loaves. As we were helping these families we saw they needed more than prayer and food – they needed practical assistance as well. With this in mind, our handy-man ministry His Hands was created to assist low-income families and those in need. His Hands not only services the community, but it is a venue to create job opportunities for some of our men that graduate the Immanuel House program.
